Nov. 12 – Malaysia’s low cost carrier AirAsia has launched a new daily flight between Ho Chi Minh City and the famous Thai beach destination Phuket.
It is AirAsia’s first direct flight shuttling from Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket. This route would include a “mixture of leisure seekers and business travelers,” Thai AirAsia’s chief executive officer Tassapon Bijleveld said in a statement.
Vietnamese tourists are one of the top overseas visitors to Thailand. On average, flights from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have high occupancy rates of 85 and 78 percent.Thanh Nien News reports that the company will soon add more flights between Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City within two months.
