Minimum Wage Levels to Rise for Foreign Companies
Nov. 16 – Minimum monthly wages at foreign companies and organizations in the Vietnam’s least developed areas will increase 8.6 percent to VND1 million next year, according to a new government decree.
However, the minimum monthly wages for skilled workers in these areas, designated as Zone 4, must be at least VND1.07 million per month.
The decree stipulates that employees at foreign firms in Zone 3, Zone 2 and Zone 1 must receive minimum salaries of VND1.04 million, VND1.19 million and VND1.34 million respectively.
The Vietnamese government said the minimum wage could be modified again next year if the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs recommends it.
